The shapes around us, tarnished by the inky blackness of the night, are barely distinguishable and even the most impavid sparks of life are strangled by an overwhelming stillness. Nothing seems to be capable of breaching this ominous wall: Nyx – the Greek goddess of the night – is in utter control.

Out of the blue, a distant gleam abruptly rips the dark fabric of the sky, soon after revealing itself as a fiery bullet: it is Helios – the Greek god of the sun – riding his dazzling chariot. He boldly crosses the vault of heaven, engaging in a fierce and ruthless battle with Nyx in order to overcome the obscurity of the night.

At last, the tepid light of a new day is gloriously dawning upon us and Helios, proud of the umpteenth defeat he just inflicted on his eternal nemesis, gently eclipses himself beyond the horizon.

Countless times this fascinating story has been told, and infinite more it will be...

We deeply wanted to "translate" this mythical tale (which represents an ancient and anthropomorphized metaphor for the sunrise) into music, and this single is the result.
